Miley Cyrus opens her new single, Different Religion, with the words, I've got my own god, off her album Bass Persuades, released September 30, 2026. The lyrics borrow straight from Christianity, an immaculate figure who gives her Jesus while she bites his neck, and the video opens with her bathed in red light making that claim. This video traces how a former Disney star ended up here, and uses Roger Morneau's testimony about a planned takeover of the music industry to explain why this keeps happening to artist after artist.

Miley Cyrus released Different Religion on September 30, 2026. The opening line, I've got my own god, is sung over red light in a desert scene directed by Mert Alas. Later lyrics describe shadows dancing like angels on the ceiling and a lover called an immaculate figure who gives her Jesus, language JustJared described as treating a lover with the devotion normally associated with faith.

Exodus 20:3 answered that claim 3,000 years before she wrote it: thou shalt have no other gods before me.

The video goes back to Cyrus's 2013 VMA performance with Robin Thicke, then plays her own 2026 admission that the choices she made in that era cost her relationships and left her embarrassed in front of her father. Clips from her family show she has never settled on a religion, and a childhood clip shows her getting pulled from a church school for kissing a boy and laughing at a prophecy about a classmate.

Roger Morneau, a former occultist, said in the 1940s that a secret society planned to convince people Satan does not exist, to weaponize hypnotism as science, and to replace the Bible with evolution. Morneau said he was personally recruited into that world by a famous big band leader, who told him he wanted power and went straight to the source of it.

The video connects Morneau's warning to modern artists on the record about the same trade, including a musician who says he sold his soul to the devil to get on stage, Bizzy Bone talking about artists throwing up symbols to sell records, and NBA YoungBoy calling the music industry demonic. Morneau said the underlying message, that humanity is divine, is the same lie Satan told Eve in Genesis 3:5.

Scripture tests all of it: Isaiah 8:20, Ecclesiastes 9:5 on the state of the dead, John 14:6, and 2 Corinthians 11:14 on Satan appearing as an angel of light. The video closes by pointing viewers to pray for Cyrus and to test every song, video, and sermon against the word of God rather than the feeling it produces.
