00 Movie Guide put out their own verdict on Disney's new animated movie, Hexed, and it's blunt. It blatantly promotes the occult and witchcraft. Their content list for the trailer that aired during Monday Night Football on October 12th includes a child using magic to escape a crib, a mother using crystals to protect her daughter, a spellbook, witch symbols, an occult form of transfiguration, and a raven attacking a child. Well, Hexed is Walt Disney Animated Studios' 65th animated feature, directed by Fon Viransensam and Jason Han, in theaters November 26th, I believe, or 25th. Now, Hayley Seinfeld voices Billy, a teenager expelled from school after an accidental magic outburst who ends up in a realm called Hex, the world of witches. Jodie Foster voices the villain, a witch queen. Listen to how the movie sets up. It's up its own premise. What is wrong with me? Would become an extraordinary witch. Holy smoly. And save the world of magic from evil.
07 Notice the word choice there. The girl who becomes a witch is the one who saves the world. Billy Doe, welcome to Hex, world of witches. I'm a witch. Woo-hoo! Hollywood is deeply entrenched in the occult. I've said that for years. And this trailer is just one more data point. Disney crossed the line back in 1940 with Fantasia, three years after Snow White when Chernabog summoned spirits from the grave on screen and the studio started treating magic and demons like something beautiful instead of something dangerous. Viewers have already noticed that brooms in the new Hexed trailer are direct callbacks to The Sorcerer's Apprentice, the sequence from. Fantasia, 86 years later, this is the same thread. Now, watch what the villain says to the hero near the end of the newest trailer.
06 This child has immense power and that power should be mine. Billy, it is Billy. You can't blame a witch for wanting to make an entrance. You get that from me. You get that from me. A witch is telling a child her power is inherited. A bloodline. Something passed down. Scripture does not treat witchcraft as a family gift or a gift of the spirit to be proud of. There shall not be found among you anyone who maketh his son or daughter pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For all those that do these things are an abomination. An abomination. Unto the Lord. Deuteronomy gives a direct command here. And Disney has written a movie where the very thing God calls an abomination is framed as a girl discovering who she really is.
08 By the way, do you want to learn more about what the Bible says about last day events like this? About the things that are unfolding right now? Do you want to find community with like-minded people who are sharing the same hope for what's coming? We are building that community. In a private Discord server where many people, just like you, are already sharing their thoughts, news, and sermons and anything that's happening around them in these crazy times we're living in. And you can join us too and help us carry this message forward. Inside you'll find live watch parties, Vespers, fireside chats, channels on prophecy, world events, AI, disclosure, and the coming deceptions that are soon to come. You'll also get time to ask questions. To me, and other people that are there that could probably answer your questions better than I can.
59 Jesus is coming soon. Let's partner together and be ready for that time by going to orionmedia.tv slash watchman. Jen Nizza is a former psychic who spent 25 years in divination before she became a Christian. She went on CBN News and said something about this film that I think is pretty important. This is, at least in my memory, the first time that we're seeing... Disney create an entire story where its main character, the protagonist of the story, is not only a witch, but is portrayed as the morally upright person in the film. She's not the villain. She's the hero to be celebrated. So there's that. And then I think secondarily, we're seeing for the first time, maybe in my memory again, a character who is calling upon things that actually exist. Calling on spells that actually exist.
53 Creating covens. Participating. In covens. Again, a thing that actually exists. Demonstrating occult practices that are real, that are practiced by people today. A protagonist whose magic is real world occult practice. Framed as the moral center of the story. Disney has never done that before. And she would know. Because she lived the real version of it. Paul gave a list of what comes out of a life given over to the flesh. A witchcraft. And witchcraft is on that. Right next to idolatry. Now the works of the flesh are manifest. Which are these. Adultery. Fornication. Uncleanliness. Lavishness. Idolatry. Witchcraft. Hatred. Variance. Emulations. Wrath. Strife. Seditions.
40 Heresies. Witchcraft is grouped into idolatry because it is the same sin. It is worship and trust placed somewhere other than God. Janiza put out her own breakdown of this film. And she tied it straight back to her. Her own story. And before somebody says it's just a movie or it's just magic. I want you to understand why I take this so seriously. I spent 25 years involved in divination before Jesus Christ saved me out of it. Deuteronomy 18 specifically condemns practices including divination, sorcery, interpreting omens, mediums, and attempting to communicate with the dead. God doesn't treat these things casually. So neither should we. Janiza just quoted the exact passage I read to you. From a woman who spent a quarter of a century practicing exactly what it condemns. Children's media offering purpose, identity, and power through magic is the same spiritual agenda of disobedience for a noble cause that I believe runs through Disney's films after Disney's films.
51 And as if there is... One author behind it. Jesse Romano, an apologist, made a point about why there is no such thing as a harmless version of this. First of all, there's no such thing as black witchcraft and white witchcraft. Okay? I know some people say, oh, there's good witchcraft. There's white witchcraft. No. Father Gabriel Amorth, the leading exorcist in the 20th century, says there's no such, there's no distinction. Both forms of witchcraft draw its power from Satan. The witches are just the intermediates. I don't look at a priest or at an exorcist as my authority on this. I look to the Bible. But that conclusion lines up with what Deuteronomy already told you. Scripture never splits witchcraft into a good kind and a bad kind.
39 It just calls it an abomination. Romano also raised a question that I think parents should sit with. The question is, what emotional response does the film create towards witchcraft? Does the movie, Hicks, does it make witchcraft seem dark and destructive? No. Or does it make witchcraft seem fun, empowering, misunderstood, and necessary for becoming one's true self? That's what they're pushing. I pointed out the same thing when I covered Disney's Brave. The friendly blue wisp in the film lead the hero straight to the witch's cottage. And the movie frames it as, just go, go, go. Go and talk to the spiritualism. The little blue things will lead you. To your fate. Hexed is the same mechanism with the volume turned up. Instead of the lights leading a girl to a witch, the girl simply becomes one.
34 And the story asks you to cheer for it. I don't think the writers in the studio wake up plotting to recruit children into the occult. I think deceiving spirits work on people who have not received the love of the truth. And the devil uses what they produce to build sympathy for his ideas. And I'm not attacking anybody. Personally. It's how I believe the great controversy actually operates in a writer's room. Hexed is conditioning. I believe we're fighting a cosmic battle here. Something interesting, some biblical commentary, I guess, if you will, backs up exactly this point about entertainment and the occult. In the book, Councils on Future Life, it says that the occult is everywhere. From movies, gaming, music, theme parks, books, fortune telling, and astrology. And that it's sometimes difficult to avoid the occult in our culture and entertainment.
32 The same book goes further and says plainly that what looks like innocent entertainment is not innocent at all. As Councils on Future Life put it, Today, many are deceived about the nature of the occult. What may seem like innocent entertainment is actually masterminded by the pretext of the occult. I want to be fair to Disney on one point. This is a trailer, not a finished film. Nobody has seen the full story yet, at least very few, I guess. We don't know the final message, the rating, or how the plot resolves. But a studio does not put the world of witches in a trailer by accident. And a villain does not say, you get that from me, by accident either.
22 The marketing itself is already telling you what a, or what a, the emotional response they are going for. Roger Morneau, a man who left real occult practice before Christ saved him, warned the deceiving spirits would keep working to make people comfortable with exactly this kind of power before they ever ask where it comes from. I think that's the real danger in this film like this. The real danger is that categories get softened in young minds. Magic as identity. Magic as inheritance. Magic as the thing that finally makes you special. Test every bit of this the way Isaiah told us to test anything. To the law and to the testimony, if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them. Deuteronomy already failed this trailer by that test before I even opened my mouth.
15 If a story tells your child that the power to become who they really are lives inside a witch's bloodline, the Bible has told you, where that power actually comes from. And it is not a place you want your child's heart pointed towards. Stay in the word on this one. Don't let a studio, a cartoon cat with a third eye or a talking quill do your discernment for you. Pray for the name of Jesus over what comes into your home. Because that is the only name that actually casts anything out. I'm Bradley and this has been Pure Strangeness in Absolute Normalcy. We'll see you next time.
