0:00 The movie also takes the position of the church. Is God our God only on this planet, or is God a God for every system where there's civilization, intelligent life, and even a developing life? Steven Spielberg just asked that on national television, and he thinks it's a brave new question. It's not. A fair warning, spoilers are ahead. And if you're a Christian, this video probably is the one you should finish, because what Spielberg has built isn't attacking your faith, it's replacing it. Here's the movie in a nutshell, Disclosure Day. The movie in theaters this weekend is Spielberg's biggest film in a decade, a bookend to Close Encounters of the Third Kind. The setup is aliens never left. The contractor, Wardex, has hidden the proof for 80 years, and one man leaks the entire archive to all 8 billion of us all at once. On the surface, it's a chase movie. Underneath, it's a Bible story with the names changed. Now, I'm not reaching for this either, because secular critics have already said this, all Christian reviewers. So, one of the major Christian news outlets flat out called the film a sci-fi reimagination of the Judeo-Christian beliefs, and a riff on Exodus. Their words, not mine, all right? Two ordinary people, Margaret, a weather girl, and Daniel, gets chosen, touched by the visitors, and suddenly their gifts are poured out. What gifts? Well, Margaret wakes up and speaks a fluent Russian, and then Korean fluently. Well, real languages she never learned. She looks at people in the eyes and knows their secrets. She sees the future before it happens. Tongues, prophecy, reading of the heart, the exact gifts of the Holy Spirit pours out in the Bible. And here's why that should land harder than the movie should. This is already happening, right now, off the screen.
2:12 Chris Bledsoe, one of the most famous UFO conductees in America today, openly said his encounters gave him the power to heal. I came back a different person. I walked up the hill, and walked up on the hill, and walked up on the hill, and walked up on the hill, and walked up on the hill, big glowing balls of fire, not flying saucers, not aliens with ray guns. I've never seen anything like that. It was truly a spiritual thing. He claims he's healed his own dog. He's healed strangers on the street. He's healed people in Washington, D.C. Signs and wonders, right? Well, not in a Spielberg script, in real life, this decade. Spielberg is just dramatizing what men like Bledsoe are already telling us is real. The movie isn't predicting the future. It's reporting the present. It keeps going. The two men are called prophets and deliverers. One reviewer said straight up that Moses and Aaron were performing signs and wonders. And listen to this. Not from their own power, but from being vessels of these angels. There's an alien device in the movie that works like Aaron's rod. There's literally a scene of hail, a plague of Egypt. And the character quotes Jesus in the Gethsemane. Like he says, not my will, but yours be done. This whole world is wars and rumors of wars. And the very last word spoken in the movie is from the alien saying, listen, as he begins to tell the world the truth.
3:56 Watch what Margaret does once she's gifted. She looks at other people in the eyes and she knows their secrets. The movie plays it as a wonder. But go to where the spiritualism is already thick on earth, here. And culture is already saturated with the occult. And you will find the very same thing. And it isn't a wonder. The demon-possessed are known to call out the private sins of people in the crowd. To name them, to shame them, and sometimes outright in the middle of church service. It's humiliating. It's terrifying. And that's coming here if we continue down this road of disclosure. Here's the hard truth for professing Christians in a church. If you have not worked out your salvation with fear and trembling, you have not let God make you an overcomer in Jesus with your own sins and confess them under the blood, then that day that power like this stands up and starts naming your secrets, you will not be standing for Christ. You will be cowering. You'll be hiding. You'll be scared. The Bible is blunt about those who don't make it. Revelation 21.8 says the fearful and the unbelieving is up the head of the list. Those are the ones that are shut out of the kingdom. Not just the wicked, the fearful. The ones who knew the truth but were too afraid to stand up on it. Too afraid of what people thought of their character, what people thought of the sins that they hadn't confessed, what people thought of whether or not they would get that promotion because of what people were revealing about them. Let's put that aside for a second and talk about the dead. And this is one that should stop every Christian cold. There's a scene where Margaret defends herself by conjuring up a Christian cult. And this is one that should stop every Christian cult. And this is one that should stop every Christian cult. And this is one that should stop every Christian cult. Dead loved ones making the departed appear to the living. The film treats it as a gift, a superpower. But open your Bible. The dead are asleep according to Ecclesiastes 9.5. It says the dead know not anything. And calling them up, Deuteronomy 18 names it plainly, an abomination. Isaiah 8.19.
6:17 Should not a people seek unto their God for the living to the dead? Whatever appears wearing your loved one's face is not them. Scripture's already ruled on it. It's a spirit of the devils. Revelation 16.14. The single most forbidden practice in the whole Bible, handed to you on screen as a gift. It's called necromancy. Now listen. Now the beings themselves in the movie. They're gentle. They're parental. They don't frighten the children. They appear to frightened children as comforting animals. A cardinal, a deer, a fox, pure benevolence. Isn't that how it happened to Eve? Genesis says that the snake, it didn't look like a snake today. It was the most beautiful creature in the entire garden. Maybe its skin. I mean, if you look at a snake today, you can see after it sheds that the skin actually has a rainbow texture to it, no matter what color it is.
7:18 Imagine a perfect animal back then. Maybe it had legs, wings, something like that. It was beautiful and maybe even benevolent, seductive. And here's what people relax. Surely something this kind and good is good. But the Bible's warning has never said the deceiver looks scary, pointy-tailed, red, or evil, or smells like sulfur. 2 Corinthians 11.14 says Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. He deceiveth the whole world. Revelation 12.9 says, and he does it by looking beautiful. The gentleness isn't proof it's safe. The gentleness is a disguise. The Bible predicted the costume. So now go back to Spielberg's question.
8:14 Is God only our God? The subtle suggestion, though, from Spielberg is simple. If there's a life out there, your God shrinks because he becomes small, local. That's only God who never saw it coming. But the Bible never said that earth was alone. Not once. It's full of other beings. Angels. And not just one kind. Cherubim. Seraphim. Ranks and orders of all kinds. I would even say races of these Cherubim and Seraphim. Open the oldest book of the Bible. Job. The Bible describes morning of creation. The morning star. sang together. All the sons of God shouted for joy. Other beings singing before single human existed. Nehemiah, the hosts of heaven worship thee. The hosts, not earth's little choir, hosts of heaven. Paul to the Corinthians, he says, by him all things were created that are in heaven and that are in earth, visible and invisible. All of it. Every system. Every world. One maker.
9:30 And think about this for a second. That doesn't mean that when God creates holy beings that they're coming down to this terrible, sinful earth and going to communicate with us. Don't think they're ever going to even want to talk to us because we are infected with this thing called sin. But listen to what Jesus himself said. He tells a story about a shepherd who leaves a 99 sheep and goes and finds one that he lost. And here's the line nobody talks about. Luke 15 7 says, there's more joy in heaven over the one that's found than over 99 just persons which need no repentance. Stop on that for a second. Which person needs no repentance here on earth? Who's that? Every human on this planet needs a savior. All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. So who are these 99 who don't? And why do they make up the majority? And that majority wasn't the church leaders of earth. They made up a very small minority. It makes you wonder if Jesus was just pointing back past earth to beings who never fell. Who never needed rescuing.
10:50 While we were the lost sheep, this planet, this small little terrible infected planet that he came down here to find, we were the black sheep. Because when Jesus was on earth, he told us flat out. He wasn't giving us everything. John 16 12 says, I have yet many things to say unto you, but you cannot bear them now. There's more out there than he has laid out on the table. And he said, So Spielberg's biggest question, is God only our God? The Bible answered that before he was born. No, he never was. Life out there doesn't shrink to God. It's just more of what he made. So here's why I'm warning Christians specifically. A copy this precise doesn't come from someone who hates the Bible. It comes from someone who has studied it. And the Bible tells you exactly who that is. Exactly what he does. 2 Thessalonians 2 9. The final deception comes with all power, signs, and lying wonders. Stop on that for a second. Lying wonders. Not fake. Not cheap.
12:03 Special effects. Real power telling false stories. That's this whole movie's formula. Real gifts. Real wonders. Real awe. Pointed at the wrong God. This is the part of the world cannot defend against. Because the world has no test. The culture already believes everything this movie needs it to believe. So when the real thing shows up, there's nothing left to stop it. And make no mistake, the real thing is being prepared. This film opens the same weekend real disclosure was demanded on the steps of the U.S. Capitol. Hollywood and Washington asking the exact same question in the same season. That's not a good thing. That's not a good thing. That's not a good thing. That's not a good thing. That's not a calendar lineup. That's a current pulling in the same direction. So you have a test. One test. Isaiah 8 20. To the law and to the testimony, if it speaks not according to this word, it's because there is no light in them. So any being, any gift, any voice, any glowing visitor, however kind, however real, that sources its spirit's power to the sky instead of to Christ, that calls necromancy a gift, that sells knowledge in the place of a savior, has just told you exactly what it is. No matter how good the movie is. And here's how you lose the fear.
13:27 Because the fear is the thing that takes you down, not the spirits. The only way to stand upright in front of a power like this, unshaken, is to have nothing in you for it to grab because of what's already inside you, Jesus. That's exactly what Jesus had. He had the Father. And on the night before the cross, he said, The prince of this world cometh and hath nothing in me. John 14 30. The enemy came at him and found no foothold, no hidden sin, no unsurrendered corner. When you've let the Holy Spirit do that work in you, when your life is confessed and clean and hidden in Christ, then the Spirit can stand in front of you and shout your past, and it has nothing to grab. You don't have to be afraid of what these beings, know about you, because it's already under the blood. That's the only fearlessness that will hold in these last days. Not bravado. The truth already belongs to 8 billion people. It's just not the truth the movie is selling. Spielberg ends the movie with one word, listen. And I'll borrow it for a second.
16:12 Listen. But test what you're hearing. Because not, every voice from the sky is the voice of God. But I want to leave you with a warning. I want to leave you with an invitation. If your heart beat a little faster while watching this, good. That's not fear. That's the part of you that already knows the hour is late. And that something is really moving here. You don't have to run from that. You get to run towards somebody. Here's the beautiful thing the movie can't show you. God who made every star in the sky already came down. He already walked out of the tomb. He already won. And the same spirit that raised him is offered to you freely today. You don't have to be strong enough on your own.
17:09 You just have to be his. So if you've been keeping him at arm's length, let this be a little nudge. Open the book. Get on your knees. Settle it now. Who are you? Or whose are you? I guess I should say. Before the sky gets loud, find that out. Because the people who walk through what's coming without fear won't be the smartest or the bravest. They'll be the ones who can honestly say what Jesus said. When the prince of this world comes, he'll find nothing in you. And that can be you. That's the whole offer.
