Why was the book of Enoch excluded, or should it be understood today? Yeah, the book of Enoch is actually quoted once in the Bible by Jude. The book of Enoch clearly was not written by Enoch, because if you know your Bible history, Enoch lived before the flood. That would mean Enoch needed to write a book before there was any record there was writing. People had such prodigious memories before the flood. They lived hundreds of years. Everything was transmitted orally. And there's no record, no mention of the book of Enoch anywhere until you get after the Babylonian captivity.
