JD Vance Consults the Dead at His Graveyard. The Bible Warns Against This

JD Vance Communicates with Spirits? And they talk back! In his new book Communion, the Vice President writes that when you speak to the dead, they say something back.

In this Bible study we open "Communion: Finding My Way Back to Faith" and let JD Vance describe, in his own words, what he believes happens after death. He owns his family cemetery in Eastern Kentucky. He goes there to talk to four dead relatives, and he assigns each one a spiritual specialty. He defends the Catholic practice of praying to saints, which he himself calls "consulting dead people." And he states that the dead answer.

We are not attacking JD Vance. He is a sincere man who was taught a false doctrine at a graveside by people who loved him, and most of Christianity would answer exactly as he does. The doctrine is the target, not the man. But Isaiah 8:20 has no exemption written into it for people we like.
