00 In 2012, Pat Robertson told his television audience that Mitt Romney would win the presidency and serve two terms, and he said there was only one reason he knew it. He's going to win. Mitt Romney will win the election. You believe that? I absolutely believe that. What makes you believe that? Because the Lord told me. Well, that's why I'm glad to know. I wasn't sure how you knew. Really, the Lord said that to you? Yeah, absolutely. I told Mitt a long time ago. I called him, I said, listen, I've been in prayer. Number one, you're going to win the nomination. Number two, you're going to win the general election. Mitt Romney lost that election. Barack Obama won a second term, not Romney. Sometime later, Pat Robertson went back on the air and admitted something to himself. So many of us miss God.
48 I tell you, I won't get into great detail about elections, but I sure did miss it, and I thought I'd heard from God. I thought I had heard clearly from God. He said he had heard clearly from God. He was wrong. I want to talk tonight about a phrase that gets used consistently in Christian circles. God put it on my heart. That's the phrase. God told me to tell you this. I feel impressed. I'm going to walk you through where those phrases come from in scripture and where it goes wrong, and a case that's been making the rounds for years now of a man who says, Jesus appeared to him in the middle of a satanic ritual. By the end, I want to give you a way to test any of it, including me. Before I go further, though, our merch store just crossed 120 products, t-shirts, hoodies, stickers, everything you can buy from store.orionmedia.tv.
47 It goes straight back to keeping this show running. If that's something you're into, then go ahead and check it out. Here's where this starts, not with a false prophet on television. It's with Saul, the first king of Israel. The Bible tells us plainly that emotions can be worked on by spirits that are not the Holy Spirit. And it came to pass on the morrow that the evil spirit from God came upon Saul, and he prophesied in the midst of the house. And David played with his hands, as at the other times. And there was a javelin in Saul's hand, and Saul cast the javelin, for he said, I will smite David even to the wall with it, and David avoided out of his presence twice. Saul couldn't always tell the difference on how it felt in the moment. Jeremiah tells us why that's true for all of us, not just for Saul. The heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked. Who can know it?
49 Even the apostle Peter got it wrong once to Christ's own face. Jesus told the disciples he was going to suffer and die in Jerusalem, and Peter pulled him aside. Then Peter took him and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord. This is not to be unto thee. But he turned and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan, thou art an offence unto me. For thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men. Peter loved Jesus. That love in that moment was Satan speaking through him. If a feeling of love for Christ himself can be used in a situation like that, then it's used by the enemy. We have no business trusting a feeling just because it comes wrapped in religious language. I want you to hold on to that principle because we're about to look at a case where a man, a man's entire testimony, rests on how something made him feel.
43 His name is Rhiann Swigler. He's a co-founder of the South Africa's First Church of Satan. In 2022, his testimony went viral across Christian media, a former Satanist who said Jesus appeared to him during a Satanic ritual. Here's how he describes what happened. In his own words, to the Wide Awake podcast. And I did the first part of it, and then suddenly, yeah, it was there, like in front of my face. And I... Who was there? Jesus. And I, because I didn't, I've never believed in Christ. Up to that point, I'd been extremely scientifically minded and an atheist and all of those things.
36 I said, no, like, this is either a demon playing a trick with me and, or I am hallucinating. Like, I was, and I was scared. I honestly was scared because I thought if this is Jesus, I am in trouble. He raises the right question himself. Was this a demon playing a trick on him? Watch what happens to that question next. And he flooded me with love, with so much love. And that's when I recognized it is from that woman at the radio station. It was the same thing. And from two other people that showed it to me a year before when I was extremely ugly to them, they just loved me unconditionally and sorry, it's still, it's just, it was such a powerful experience.
31 And I said to him, but I don't believe it, I can't believe this, because I've looked for this my whole life. I said, well, no, you've never opened yourself up for it. And I realized, yes, this was the first time I've opened myself up that much to the spiritual world. The question he asked, is this a demon or a hallucinogen, gets answered by a feeling of love. No. No. He was asked to explain to me, line by line, and found what was missing from it. It's about love. Rian claims he spoke to God, and God gave him answers. Nowhere does he state he got these answers from scripture. Now we as believers don't need any more new revelation. We have the Word of God, the Bible, the closed canon of scripture. Everything we need to know regarding God is contained in the pages of scripture.
27 The Bible tells us what is going on and what is coming and how it will end. in this world we're living in. People who claim they got new revelations directly from God are always leading people astray. A year later, the same ministry followed up after watching what Swigler actually did in the months after his testimony went viral. During that time, a lot of Christian ministries seem to just take his testimony and they spread it as if he is now a born-again Christian. They obviously have no discernment. I don't think they have any discernment. It's very obvious that he's not a Christian if you just watch his one testimony. I'm not attacking this man personally. I don't know his heart, and only God does really. But I can look at what he has said publicly and test it against the scripture the way 1 John tells us that every believer should do. Another pastor did exactly that, going through Swigler's own words on the day of his testimony. I had this wonderful experience. I was walking along the beach talking to God, my guides and my angels. Did you pick that up? I was walking along the beach talking to God, my guides and my angels.
51 Out of nowhere, this man came to him who used to work with him or he used to work with in the ministry, in that apostolic ministry, 20 years previous. And the guy came up to him. He said, I felt I needed to share this with you. And the man said, imagine there can be a religion based on the teachings of Jesus, because it's not Christianity. The important thing is love, he said. He goes on to say, God is love. I really get it now. And Jesus was one of those teachers that God impersonated, that's the word he used, impersonated, to show us that unconditional love. The information I'm getting from having these conversations with God, or the divine, or dot, dot, dot, is more important than anyone's opinion. Later, he says, unfortunately, I will not go to any church, any of the churches, because I've not experienced cross love in any of the churches. Check this one out. It's not a book, people. God speaks to us in so many different ways. There is no condemnation or judgment. It's perfect love, and it's grace, and it's available to anybody. Ongoing personal conversations with the divine outrank anyone else's opinion, including, presumably, scripture itself. That is a description of new age spirit contact, where Christians both collab with Christianese or vocabulary. Baker also pointed out everything this testimony never mentioned. What was missing from this testimony? There was no repentance, no repentance, no mention of the cross. He never once mentioned his own sin. The only time he in sin was when he said it was wrong for people to judge other people and say that they are in sin.
46 No repentance, no cross, no confession of sin. A being appeared, flooded him with love, and he walked away calling it Jesus with none of the things the Bible says actually accompany a conversion. Repentance and confession aren't optional extras. Scripture says believers are to confess sin and turn from it, and that has to show up somewhere in testimony that claims to be about meeting Christ. Now none of this happened in the vacuum. This is what our own church founder Ellen White wrote about how Satan operates in these last days. In the Great Controversy, page 624, Satan will manifest himself along men as a majestic being of dazzling brightness, resembling the description given by John of the Son of God. A being. dazzling brightness, resembling the Son of God. That's the description that fits what happened in the room in South Africa far better than anything the Bible tells us about how conversion actually works. This pattern doesn't stop with one man's ritual room. It runs through pulpits with television audiences in the millions. Julie Green calls herself a prophet. She was invited to open in prayer at political rallies for a candidate for governor of Pennsylvania. Here's what she said on camera about a sitting speaker of the house. Nancy has not been visited by an angel of death. She has not been executed for treason, as Green has also predicted for other named officials. Green's list, according to the reporting of Rebel HQ, has included, Ihan Omar, Adam Schiff, Lisa Cheney, Mitt Romney, and Georgia's Governor Brian Kemp.
15 None of that happened. She still calls it a word from the Lord. Jeremiah Johnson prophesied for years publicly that Donald Trump would win a second term in 2020. When it didn't happen, to his credit, he posted a public apology instead of disappearing. My aim in this public apology is to twofold. First, I would like to repent for inaccurately prophesying that Donald Trump would win a second term as the President of the United States. I refuse to blame the Saints and say it didn't come to pass because they did not pray enough. Nor will I proclaim Donald Trump actually won. So, I was right, but now it has been stolen from him. I believe the first state, Sixth, to elevate the prophetic messenger from the responsibility of what he prophesied. And the second statement is to feel potential pride and unwillingness to humble himself and admit he was wrong. I want to go on record. I was wrong. I am deeply sorry.
32 And I ask for your forgiveness. I respect an apology. More than I respect an original claim. But notice what it means. A man stood in front of a public audience for years, said this is from God, and it was not from God. If it can happen to him, it can happen to anyone standing behind a pulpit saying the same four words. This isn't only prophecy about elections. Jesse Duplantis has told his television audience that God spoke to him personally about his private jet. As I was going home. The Lord, real quickly, he said, Jesse, do you like your plane? You know, I thought that's an odd statement he gave. I said, well, certainly, Lord. He said, do you really like it? And I thought, well, yes, Lord. He said, then he said this. So that's it.
22 I didn't know how to handle it. If a man went, what? He said, you're going to let your fate stagnate. And when he said that, that shocked me. I went, whoa, wait. I literally unbuckled my seatbelt, my plane. I stood up. My pilots look where I said, do you need some? I said, no, no, I'm talking to God right now. Duplantis went on to ask his followers for $54 million for a new jet, saying God told him it was time for an upgrade. Oral Roberts made an even more direct claim. Decades earlier, he told his audience that God gave him an ultimatum. Oral Roberts said that God gave him the ultimatum in March. So God was the one that told Oral, Oral, you need to raise this money. God told Oral. That, look, you have to have this money by March. And he warned him that you have to raise a total of $8 million. Or I'm going to call you home in one year. $8 million.
21 Or God would take his life within a year. That is what was preached on television as a word from the Lord. Kat Kerr tells her audience she visited heaven regularly and speaks to God on weather systems. Here. This is her commanding Hurricane Dorian in 2019. So right now, at this moment, we take authority over Dorian that has no right off the coast of this state or anywhere. And we hit that storm to the east right now. And I'm going to do it three times. We hit it to the east. We hit it to the east and command it. You go to the east. Out. Away from land. We declare you will do no destruction in any way. We won't tolerate it.
13 Hurricane Dorian still made landfall. And in 2021, Robin Bullock told a live audience that he had heard a word from the Lord about the cause of homosexuality. As far as homosexuality, this is what I heard. And I'm going to tell you something, and I want everybody to take heed. This is what I've heard from the Lord. Homosexuality is a cover-up for an evangelist. People that are in that lifestyle are really called evangelist by the Lord. And this is a spirit that attacks that to stop it. So instead of just praying a lot of things right here, what I'm led to do is to call forth the gift of evangelism.
03 Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. God has placed on their lives to come forth, and it will drive that other out. That teaching is nowhere in scripture. It was delivered the same way every claim in this episode has been delivered. This is what I heard from the Lord. Here is what all these have in common. A failed election prediction. A jet upgrade. An $8 million ultimatum. A hurricane command. And a doctrine about human sexuality found nowhere in the Bible. A being of light in a satanic ritual room. Every single one was introduced with some version of the same four words. Every single one either failed to come true or contradicted scripture or both. So how do we actually test this? Well, scripture gives a direct answer, and it isn't complicated.
56 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God. Because many false prophets are gone into the world. Try the spirits. Not accept them because they come with confidence or with tears or with some love that floods you or in some dark room. Test them. Against what? Well, Isaiah gives us the standard. To the law and to the testimony, if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them. Not against how it made you feel. Against the word. The Bible does say prophets will arise in the last days. Joel wrote about it, and Peter quoted it in the day of Pentecost. And it shall come to pass afterward that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh. And your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your old men shall dream dreams, and your young men shall see visions.
45 That verse is real, and I'm not going to tell you that God can't speak through dreams and visions or a distinct impression on your heart. He can. And I believe he still does. What I'm telling you is that scripture never asks us to accept a claim like that on a claimant's word alone. Paul gave a specific. Standard for conforming anything presented as a message of God. In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established. Two or three witnesses, not one man's private impression, announced through a room, expected to be received on the spot. If someone tells you God told them something about you, ask what confirms it. Ask what in scripture lines up with it. If there is no answer, that alone should tell you something. Our book ministry has two chapters. Two titles built around this exact kind of discernment.
37 Aliens, angels, or ancestors. I'm asking the last deception or non-human intelligence, unmasking the UAP deception. One is in reach. One is outreach. Grab a copy at store.orionmedia.tv. And if this topic is important to you, share it. Somebody needs to hear this. Now, I want to close with something from our own history because this isn't just a problem with modern televangelists. Ellen White was a young woman when a man approached her. And told her plainly that God had told him the two of them were meant to be married. She didn't accept it because he said it with confidence or because he claimed that the Lord as a source. She told him, as it's recorded in Adventist history, that God had told her no such thing. I don't want to put words in her mouth beyond what is documented.
24 But the substance of the account is well known in our history and the principle in it stands regardless of the precise phrasing. A claim of God told me is not in itself evidence. It has to be tested every single time by the person hearing it against the word of God and against confirming witness. Not accepted because of who said it or how sincere it was. If someone comes to you and says God told them something about your life, about your marriage, about your ministry, or about the future, don't be moved by their conviction. Ask what scripture it stands on. Ask who else can confirm it. If it can't be answered by two questions, set it down. Test everything. Hold fast to what is good. We are a non-profit ministry and if what you have heard tonight is the kind of discernment you want more of, your donation to orionmediatv.com keeps this work going.
22 It's tax deductible. And if our channel is ever taken offline, this show and everything we've produced stays backed up on watch.orionmedia.tv. Test the spirits. Hold on to the word and whatever voice tells you in a dream, in an impression, in a room, that goes suddenly quiet, take it to scripture before you take it anywhere else. Now, what started this whole idea and me talking about this? Well, people that email me and tell me, God showed me that I need to give you this message. This happens a lot in ministry. I was around, uh, I worked for ministries that have had many emails like this and now I'm getting them too. Just because someone says something doesn't mean they're a prophet. But no prophets will arise. And we have to be able to test them. Another reason I want to make this video is because a lot of people validate what they hear based on a feeling.
21 They say, well, if the Holy Spirit tells me to, I will do it. As if truth was dynamic and there was some personal truth to it that this Holy Spirit would reveal. The Holy Spirit will always agree with the Bible. And so if you can find it in the Bible, chances are the Holy Spirit told it to you. Don't trust your feelings. My name is Bradley. This has been Pure Strangeness in Absolute Normalcy. We'll see you next time.
