0:00 Number four, absent from the body. In 2 Corinthians 5.8, Paul says he is willing to be absent from the body and present with the Lord. It's easy to assume that he is talking about death. But since this all happens in verse 8, check the context. In verse 1 and 2, he speaks of how our earthly house is being dissolved. And in verse 4, mortality being swallowed up so that there is no more death. Paul is referring to the second coming when he says, I will be absent from the body and present with the Lord. He wouldn't contradict himself. For in 1 Corinthians 15.52, he says, In a moment, in a twinkling of an eye, at the last trump, the trumpets shall sound and the dead shall be raised incorruptible.
